QUALIFICATION
• The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / BSc Telecommunications
Engineering.
• Professional certifications in CCNA, CCDA, CCIP, IP Networks/Security/Telecoms industry as well as Project
Management Training would be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE
• At least two years’ experience with Telecoms Core Networks
• Technical Knowledge of the operation of Microwave/Data networks, including but not limited to router
and switch configuration

RESPONSIBILITIES (Not limited to:)
• Plan, monitor, coordinate and accept all new MW/IP/MPLS developments, improvements and
installations.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly performance monitoring reports on MTN’s IP/MPLS
infrastructure and provide recommendations on network improvements.
• Carry out Capacity Planning, Network Design & Implementation, Project Management for all MW/
IP Data Networks/Services
• Review Designs & Validate all Microwave / IP Services/Data Network Planning Infrastructure
upgrades/changes before implementation.
• Assume the technical leadership for all Microwave /IP Services/Data Network planning initiatives.
• Constantly forecast data Network capacity requirements to meet the growing trafficdemands and
subscriber projections as per the MTN business plan.
• Ensure timely development of Project specifications for all new Transport Network Platforms and
services for submission to the Network Department for Implementation.
• Monitor the Data Network Nodes Licenses so that timely license upgrades may be carried out
without exceeding capacity limitations.
• Perform any other duties, as may be required from time to time.
